Neave who?  If you have any questions, this page should help.  Otherwise do please feel free to send me an email and I'll try to get back as soon as poss.  //

  • // Who are you?

Hello!  My name's Paul Neave.  I'm British and live in London, UK.

I'm an Interaction Designer, which is a fancy way of saying I make interactive tools and toys: websites, games, web and mobile applications, experimental interactive art, installations and intuitive user interfaces.  I love dissolving the barriers between technology and people and making the digital world more simple, fun and human.

I have over 12 years experience in interaction design and development, and I've been making computers do silly things ever since I was a small boy with big blonde hair.

  • // Can I hire you?

Thanks for asking!  Please get in touch to ask about my availability.  I'm also contactable through LinkedIn under Paul Neave or Neave Interactive.

  • // Can you keep me updated?

If you'd like to be hear about my latest projects and musing, do please follow me on Twitter.

  • // What is this website about?

Neave.com is my personal interactive playground; a place where I can explore my ideas and try out risky experiments that I wouldn't normally get the opportunity to make anywhere else.  I often spend my days pointing and gazing in wonder at the world around me, and Neave.com allows me to turn my daydreams into reality.

  • // Can I download your source code?

Yes, most of my tools and toys are open source and available to download from Google Code.

  • // How do you pronounce 'Neave'?

It's nee-v.  Say it like "weave".  Think knee + V.  Or listen to this.  Easy.

  • // Do you have any tips?

If you need a simple, all-in-one accounts system, I'd highly recommend Crunch.

If you're looking for a great website hosting provider, you'll love (mt) Media Temple.

If you want to learn Flash, grab a free trial and try out the tutorials that come with it.  Then you can get more help from Kirupa, GotoAndPlay.it or Adobe's Flash Developer Center.

  • // Any other tips?

Turn the computer off and go outside.  Go hang out with your friends.  Count your blessings.  Smile like an idiot.  Don't think too much.  Don't worry about the future.  Don't take life too seriously.  Don't pay attention to a word I say.
